Take'em or Leave'em

Nyheim Hines – Running Back, Indianapolis Colts

Hines is a player that has been on and off the waiver wire all year, but don’t expect him to stay on the wire. Hines started the season with a big performance and then was relatively quiet until the last 3 weeks. Over that time, Hines has had two top 5 finishes and is getting a ton of work.

Verdict – Leave’em, you will have to pay too much for him. He is going to stay inconsistent for the remainder of the year as Frank Reich continues to cycle the 3 running backs in and out.

Salvon Ahmed – Running Back, Miami Dolphins

Ahmed is getting the touches while Gaskins is out and has actually looked pretty impressive. Gaskins is going to miss at least one more week as he isn’t eligible to return from the IR until next week.

Verdict – Take’em, you can always use more starting running backs and this Miami team is actually pretty good. Depending on team need, I’d spend 5%-15% of FAAB on him.

Jakobi Meyers – Wide Receiver, New England Patriots

Meyers has been targeted on 30.5% of his routes, 2nd only to Davante Adams… what more do you need to know. Meyers is the only pass catcher worth owning in New England at this point. Double-Digit PPR points in 4 straight weeks including a 29-point performance in week 9 where Meyers had 12 catches for 169 yards. He can also throw the ball a little bit.

Verdict - Take’em, he is getting all the targets. I’d spend 20% of my FAAB on him.

Other Notable Pickup Options

Tim Patrick – He’s been mentioned here a few times this year. He is nothing flashy, but he has been steady and reliable and has had double-digit points in 5 of his last 6 games. If you need a safe start, grab him.

Jameis Winston – With Brees out, Winston is the assumed starter. We all know his story… he could go out there and throw 4 picks or 4 TDs, but if you need a starter there are worse options as the Saints go up against a very bad Falcons defense this week.

Cam Akers – The Rams’ backfield is a question mark, but in week 10 Akers did lead the team in carries. Akers was taken with the Rams’ first pick of the draft and they should give him every opportunity to succeed.

Wayne Gallman Jr. – If Gallman is available in your league, go get him. He is available in about 50% of leagues and has been a top 20 RB for four weeks in a row.
