Take'em or Leave'em

James White – Running Back, New England Patriots

With Rex Burkhead done for the season, James White should be in for a bigger role. They had been splitting the passing game role and now with Burkhead out, all those targets should go to White. Michel was activated from the IR this week, but Belichick doesn’t seem to trust him or Harris in the passing game.

Verdict: Take’em – he is probably the only RB on waivers that could be a weekly flex option. I’d spend 15% of my FAAB on him.

Gus Edwards – Running Back, Baltimore Ravens

Dobbins and Ingram are both expected to miss Thursday’s game after going on the COVID list. That means the next man up is Gus Edwards. They are going up against the stout Steelers defense so I wouldn’t expect a boom week, but he should receive a ton of touches which should result in a solid floor.

Verdict: Take’em – if you need a one-week starter. Depending on your need for a starter or win, I’d spend 5%-15%.

Michael Pittman Jr. - Wide Receiver, Indianapolis Colts

Another Rookie Receiver! As hyped as this class was, it has lived up to expectations. Pittman started the year slow and then dealt with some injury issues. However, over the last 3 weeks, he has put up double-digit PPR points and has become a favorite target of Rivers.

Verdict: Take’em – although not the most prolific passing offense in the NFL, when the Colts need a big play Pittman is going to be who they are looking towards. I’d spend 15% of my FAAB.

Other Pickup Options:

Deebo Samuel – Samuel is only available in about 48% of leagues, but if he were healthy all year he wouldn’t be available at all. Samuel is a very talented player and Shanahan uses him in a variety of ways. With all the other injuries on the 49ers, I expect Samuel to have a huge role moving forward as long as he can stay healthy.

RB handcuffs to your starters – Bye weeks are basically over so use your bench spots to be set in case of injury. Guys like Tony Pollard, Latavius Murray, and Tevin Coleman are probably available and are high upside guys if the starter gets hurt. Everyone’s waiver wire is different, but go check yours and see who is available.

My top 5 handcuff rankings that might be available:

1. Latavius Murray

2. Chase Edmonds

3. Tony Pollard

4. Jamaal Williams

5. Alexander Mattison
