Take'em or Leave'em Playoff Edition
Doing things a bit differently this week as we are into the playoffs and you are only interested in guys who can help you this week and possibly next. Below we look at one waiver addition at each position who can help you get into the championship.
QB: Mitch Trubisky - Most people will probably have Jalen Hurts as their top guy, however I do not trust him. I don’t necessarily trust Trubisky either, but he has now shown in multiple weeks and throughout his career that he has always been good against subpar defenses. The next two weeks he has Minnesota and Jacksonville. The Bears offense has been better the last few weeks and they are finally getting some things going on the ground that should help open the field for Trubisky. I think Mitch could be the guy if you need a starter in these last two weeks.
RB: Jeff Wilson Jr.– There isn’t a ton of trust here for any RB that is likely to be available, but if you need a start, Wilson is the guy I’d take a chance on. Wilson has become the clear 2nd RB in San Francisco and with their friendly matchup against Dallas coming up, he could be in for a big day even if Mostert is good to go.
WR: Russell Gage – Gage quietly had a solid year. He has put up double digit PPR points in 7 games this year and could be in for another solid game this week against Tampa Bay., especially if Julio Jones misses.
*As mentioned in my previous articles if Tim Patrick is available get him.
Flex: Lynn Bowden Jr. – I am listing as a flex here because some sites have him as an RB and others a WR. Bowden has been used mainly as an WR and received 9 targets last week against Kansas City. Next week Miami goes against New England and Bowden could be in for a big day.
TE: Irv Smith Jr. – He is the guy to go with here. The young athletic Tight End in Minnesota has been making the most of his opportunity with Kyle Rudolph out. He now has a great matchup against Chicago, a defense that has allowed some big days to TEs and multiple Touchdowns.
DST: Buffalo Bills – If you are in need of a streaming defense and the Bills are available, they would be my choice. Denver has been one of the easiest matchups this year and has allowed the 3rd most fantasy points to opposing defenses this year.
Additional Tip: Look at your opponent’s needs. Maybe you don’t need a starting Running Back, but your opponent does, so go out and make a claim on that player so you get him over your opponent.
